Hello everyone,
Well, we are more than halfway done with
Winter! It's been quite an interesting season to say the least. Not
much snow and many days with single digit temperatures made it for a
very pleasant one. It doesn't mean that I'm not looking forward to
Spring because just like the rest of you, I sure am.
We had our first meeting of 2012 on
February 13th and it was very nice to see so many people in
attendance. Our Local is growing and it's encouraging to plan
activities and events when there are volunteers stepping up to offer
their services. We very much appreciate the time and effort of
volunteers because without that our endeavors would not be as
successful. So thank you to all volunteers!
Having said that, I'd like to thank
Allisson Walters for her hard work and contributions as Secretary of
our Council. Allisson has decided to take a break for a while. She
will be missed but no doubt will attend meetings in a different
capacity and volunteer her services when needed.
I, along with Joanne and Rosemary welcome
Adrienne Carriere who will be taking over as Secretary. She will be
a great addition to our Executive. We look forward to working with
her.
A fundraising raffle is planned. We
are requesting donations of any kind. Draws will be held in
September at our Meet and Greet Supper. If you would like to donate,
please let anyone on the Executive know. All contributors will be
acknowledged on this website. Your contribution is very much
appreciated.
